This game needs an awesome item that can drop but is account-bound.

When you get the best gear, it seems kind of pointless to play...What are you going to do when you can faceroll MP 10 Act 3? It'll feel like you're playing Normal...Okay, you can gear up your other characters. Other then that, there's nothing to strive for.

Account-bound items that are better than anything on the AH would give farming a real goal.

Except they don't drop. You have to craft for a chance. But yes, more than 1 item obviously.

Thing is the items would probably trash an entire market in that specific item slot which would be pretty ridiculous for blizzard to do. Thats why hellfire is a ring and not like an ammy or bracers

That's true. Blizzard needs money. Maybe it can have an obscene drop rate like seeing a shiny Pokemon.

Also it'd probably lead to people selling accounts because you know people out there would be willing to pay a lot for such a rare item.

Well, let's look at the newer examples of "account-bound" items...They'll be giant gold sinks it seems like. Rare items are just a reward for farming endlessly.

So do I. It was a freaking Golbat I believe. Then a Ghastly in Crystal.

Either way, the awesome items should be rare enough that they never drop or there should be a great challenge to overcome such as the popular "endless dungeon/tower" idea.
