Should my game be running like such **** on my laptop?

I have an Acer Aspire Timeline X...specs are as follows:

i5 2410M 2.3Ghz
Geforce GT 540M 2gigs
4 gigs DDR3 RAM

I have everything on low and its still really struggling, especially with more than 2 players in the game. I know that this model has some throttling issues, and I downloaded Throttlestop, but I haven't bought a laptop cooler for it yet, so I'm scared to run it. I will be getting one in the next couple of days. If my game should be running poorly with these specs, is there anything I can manually turn down in the .config file?

Thank you!

The 540m is pretty weak.
I've found better friends in piles of excrement. Aren't you thankful?

those specs are more than enough for diablo 3.
Such is your fate.

I'd woulda thought you'd run it on the lowest setting effortlessly. ****, my laptop is better, but it is a year old and I can still run D3 while listening to music off youtube, having a few other tabs open, downloading some crap, and anything else I might feel like doing in the background.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it is on my list.

How is the heat when running? My old laptop always gets performance issues when it has been running for more than 30mins. That's why I switched to a desktop when I got the chance.
I guess you're right, I always assumed PK meant PvP. I never took it so literally. -- PenguinKoala. *actually admitted a mistake, shocker!*
