How long until Diablo 3 expansion?

Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty released July 27, 2010.
Today expansion 2 Heart of the Swarm released (3.12.13). That's like 3 years, 4 months. Is that an expected time frame until we see Diablo 3's expansion? If we see an announcement for Diablo 3 expansion at this years BlizzCon, then do you think 2015, that seems too late.

So far Blizzard has been focused with patches and console releases.
Skyrim's expansions are about a year in development.

won't release the expansion that soon.

We'll more than likely hear about the expansion later this year. and pretty much know everything about it around next year. With a release either late next year or early year after.

But because the current game is kinda garb, they might expedite the expansion and we might see it earlier.

At least mid next year before it's released I'd say.

The upcoming Itemization/Loot patch is gonna basically be the expansion since it completely changes the game mechanics / item reset

I predict we will hear the official expansion info before E3. I venture to bet the release date for the expansion is late this year to spring next year.

This won't be a normal Blizz timeline, they know this game needs something. Also that leaked schedule said expansion 1 was supposed to release Q2 2013 and it has been consistently 6 months behind which would line up with holiday season 2013.
