So.... hardcore...

#1GENERALJA0Posted 5/23/2013 1:25:01 PM
So I been putting off hardcore forever and I finally decided today to start it once I get home from work.

So I'm here to ask the veteran's of hardcore what kinda tips u got for me?

Should I go barb or monk?

And what kinda spec should I use?

Should I go full defense or should I go half and half or full dps?

Any tips on making money to start? What kinda stuff should I be looking for on the AH?

Wait until you die from random lag or server connection

Hardcore should be playable offline

Play a WD, that's all the advice I can give you.

Even mp0? I figure nowadays on mp0 it would be almost impossible to die...

The choice is completely up to you but if you would like someone else to decide:
- Go with Monk. They have a passive that allows them to ressurect from the dead. Quite useful in Hardcore.
- Sweeping Wind - Cyclone Monk. Here's an example of the skill build

- Have a nice balance between defenses and dps. You don't want to take all day to kill something and you don't want to die in 2 hits
- As for making gold, I'd suggest trading some SC money to HC so you can gear yourself up. I've heard its much harder to flip items on the Hardcore AH.

Yea Ive played all the classes to 60+ already on SC so I really don't have a preference just figured a barb or monk would be the easiest.

But I was already leaning towards monk so thanks for the advice ryann.

And yea maybe I will transfer some gold over, but just enough for minor upgrades don't want to ruin the difficultly to much ;P

This is my barb. I never die, and as long as you have a competent internet connection you won't DC. If, on the other hand, your internet connection is crap and is unreliable at times, expect a DC death.

I've never been DC'd in all my time playing HC.

I personally had a monk before my barb with a SW build. The only problem I had with my Monk was trying to center all the gear I wanted with the one resist that I was trying to stack with OWE. Now with my barbarian I'm free to use gear with simply AR and War Cry - Impunity helps with the rest.

I also noticed my monk would dip much more in health than that of my barb, of course my monk was DW so that could be the cause. Try both and see what you're most comfortable with. Test your SC characters with prospective HC builds/gear setups if you can.

Well the servers are much more stable now than they once were. There are still risks, but the economy is slightly less screwed up. However, if you buy you gear or get powerleveled, what are you really accomplishing?
