Very likely to be, or it may be a promo like Project Blackstone was for StarCraft II. I don't think they trademarked Project Blackstone though, or did they?

2013 Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. Reaper of Souls is a trademark, and Diablo is a trademark or registered trademark in the U.S., and/or other countries.

And, at the End of Days, Wisdom shall be lost
as Justice falls upon the world of men.
Valor shall turn to Wrath-
and all Hope will be swallowed by Despair.
Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all-
as Fate lies shattered forever.

The text on the teaser is from that, the Prophecy of the End Days, which is found in the Book of Cain. Each line refers to an Archangel's aspect, except for Death. Malthael, former Archangel of Wisdom, who wandered off centuries ago (He 'was unable to fathom' the Worldstone's disappearance and took it especially hard as the Archangel of Wisdom, eventually he abandoned Heaven) and is 'forever seeking answers to the unknowable mysteries of life and death' is likely to return as Archangel of Death and be our Reaper of Souls.

Ah yes, I should have caught on.

The URL has "d3x". "x" standing for expansion. Guess they'll reveal Reaper of Souls during Gamescom. Hopefully the announcement won't be "Coming to you in 2015!"

We may see the Necromancer return in this expansion.

Jay Wilson in 2008, in an interview about why they went with Witch Doctor over Necromancer:
"There's a lot of people on our team who aren't happy with our class choices, Jay admitted. "But after we've established 'Diablo III' as its own game with its own type of gameplay and experiences, I wouldn't be opposed to looking at old classes. We are trying to design the Witch Doctor class so that if we did bring back the Necromancer, there's room for him. We're looking out ahead of time at what our expansions are going to be, so we've got to keep room open for some of those other classes down the road."

Many thanks Kresselack, fascinating stuff, sounds like the stage was set for him to be manipulated...

Baal corrupted him into bringing the worldstone (and himself) back, I am almost certain of it. The book of Cain surely contains more hints...

I think a strength-based class similar to the shape-shifting Druid is most likely to return if we had to constrain it to one class. If a second class were included as with LoD, I would actually prefer a character who shares some similarities with the Necromancer but feels entirely different. An Alchemist class can still use golems as well as visit potentially novel spell mechanics.

I won't hold my breath, though it's more probable for it to return as a follower, not as a PC.

Good to see they're more interested in selling an expansion than fixing the game. Good to see the itemization patch was delayed for a "good" reason. I'm putting the over/under at three features included in this expansion are just features that were striped out of the main game before release (i.e. mystic, etc).
