MK64? Already on the VC. Actually, it has been on the VC around early 2007, near the Wii's launch. As for SMW2, it TECHNICALLY is already on the VC for 3DS ambassadors.
But, back on the topic of the lack of N64 games, I always presumed it was because it was harder to emulate N64 games on the Wii. Why do I say this? I have nearly every N64 game available off the Wii Shop Channel, and pretty much all of them have some sort of problem. I've noticed in particular some of the games have some slow down. But the main problem is when you use the home button and resuming your game, you have to wait for the game to load again while the N64 logo is spinning around, and man, the wait is pretty long sometimes.
Now, before all of you start saying "Hey, I emulate (illegally) without paying for anything and there is no problem!", Here's some news for you: The emulator Nintendo's been using has been in use since the Wii's launch, which means it probably needs an update. Why doesn't Nintendo do an update for it? That means a total overall of a huge chunk of the Wii Shop Channel. What does that mean? A possible shutdown of the Wii Shop Channel itself (think whenever Sony update's the PS Store).
I think when the Wii U comes out with the Nintendo Network, Nintendo will be more prepared to handle the N64 emulation, which means more N64 VC titles.

The Gamecube was totally underrated.
