The Wii Mini's lack of online capability certainly makes a ton of sense now. It's the end of the road. =(
I need to hurry up and start snagging stuff off the Wii Shop. Who knows how much longer it has in comparison. --- "I am the rocks of the eternal shore...crash against me and be BROKEN!" -Apocalypse, X-Men:TAS
this is why i hate modern online consoles. any console should behave the same way it did on day one, even 20 years down the line. like my PS2. Gamecube, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, Genesis, etc. if it can't stand up years later, it's inferior. --- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b18HMqJW5A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMa-wQGYjBA
I translated the announcement from Nintendo and contacted them about whether this was the same for other regions (still no reply on that yet): http://whattheycallgames.blogspot.com/2013/04/nintendo-ending-various-wii-channels.html --- Latest post: "Pottermore on Playstation Home" http://whattheycallgames.blogspot.com
The list of games affected isn't that big thankfully. The Metroid Prime games are probably the only ones that will really suffer from any problems, but I imagine people could upload saves to GameFAQs with the credits already there. Their saves can be copied.
The Dr. Mario demo will no longer be available. Animal Crossing item distribution's officially ending. Image sharing in various games will stop. Big Brain's data sharing will kinda suck to lose. I can't think of any other features WC24 gave us in the games. --- Yessss! Shake that thorax! PSN: Zath84 Xbox Live: Wario waniac
