I do not believe so. The back of the box only shows the Wiimote/Nunchuck. Doesn't show GCN or Classic Controller. I think they really wanted to drive home motion control, so they didn't allow GCN/Classic Controller compatibility.

I've never played the GCN version but I DO like the Wii version. The widescreen feature is a big plus to me, and the waggle controls aren't really that bad either (kind of obnoxious but not game-breaking; I've played much worse).

I love the pointer controls, that's one thing that I think Wii got right overall, was pointing controls.

And the fishing is actually really easy. After you cast the rod, just wait until you see it go down, then pull your arm up. That's all it takes. I don't know why I thought it was so much more complicated than it actually is lol

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I put in some hours on the Wii version last night and think it's fantastic.

+ Widescreen option is wonderful considering this game has so much crap filling the screen thanks to the GUI. The GCN version is only 4:3, which means there is even less room on screen because of GUI. You can zoom out, but you'll never have to do that in the 16x9 Wii version.

+ Motion controls are actually well implemented. Aiming the slingshot, claw, and bow is really great. Slashing with sword is easy to do for all moves and feels more interactive (and I'm usually the type who dislikes random motion controls), fishing is MUCH MORE FUN with the Wiimote. If you don't want to use the motion controls you can turn them off in the options.

+ Smaller save file than on GCN (not a big deal, but worth mentioning...?)

+ Link can walk and aim (like with a slingshot) at the same time on Wii instead of being stationary in first person view (GCN).

+ Link can have 4 items hotkey'd to buttons in the Wii version, compared to the 2 items on GCN.

- GCN version allows for fully rotatable camera.

- GCN version allows Link to back flip off Epona whenever he wants (Link can only do this on Wii if enemies are close by). Really not a huge + for the GCN, really...

And then there's the fact that the world is mirrored on Wii, but this will only bug someone if they're a giant Zelda purist and MUST have Link be left handed. Seriously doesn't bug me one bit.

Wii version is multi language. Unlike USA GCN.
Not a + for us English users, but easily missed. Our manual doesn't mention it.
