HOT SEAT

I- Locate the installation folder of Medieval II on your hard drive.

II- Locate the medieval2.preference and open it with notepad.

III- Verify the values of the following settings (if not there add them.)

[hotseat]
turns = 0
scroll = 0
autoresolve_battles = 0
disable_console = 0
disable_papal_elections = 1
save_prefs = 1
update_ai_camera = 1
validate_diplomacy = 1

IV Save the config file.

V. Open the config file properties (right click on it and choose properties) then check read only. (* Note: if you do not do this the config file will be over written on every new hotseat game.) You are now configured to play.

[hotseat]
autoresolve_battles = 1
disable_console = 1
disable_papal_elections = 1
save_prefs = 1
update_ai_camera = 0
validate_diplomacy = 1

which if I was going to set I'd have to add

I keep a folder on desk top with answers to the most asked questions to save typing every time and had this info in 2 places instead of 1 and 1 didn't have all the info so heres the other info ..

[misc]
unlock_campaign = true

[multiplayer]
playable = true

and the whole thing including in game options ..

[misc]
unlock_campaign = true

[multiplayer]
playable = true

[hotseat]
turns = 0
scroll = 0
autoresolve_battles = 0
disable_console = 0
disable_papal_elections = 1
save_prefs = 1
update_ai_camera = 1
validate_diplomacy = 1

just like that and save ......... then important part opposite click file and make it read only

your options in game all your choice except last 2..

Advice:

Difficulty:

Battle Difficultly: Since you will be fighting each other's AI armies you may want to pick same setting

Manage All Cities:

Show CPU Moves:

No Battle time limit:

Disable Console Checked

Use Passwords Checked
