Ok, so I bought this game when it came out, played it for a few months, and I've just decided to pick it back up again. I had to reinstall it after a format, now whenever I try and log in (NOT making a new account) it comes up with "The CD key is already registered to another account."
Anyone know a fix? I searched CD key and account and no archived topics with my problem AND a fix popped up, so I'm posting this.
I'd really like to play this game again and I can't find any fix for this. I've tried retreiving my info and stuff but I dunno why it doesn't work D: --- If you can't slam with the best, then jam with the rest. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3050/barkleyrealuc0.jpg
ok, so I've since found out that soldier names get temp deleted til you log back into your account.
Ok, here's all the info, in case anyone knows a solution:
-I bought the game at launch and played it for a bit, haven't played it in a year or something
-I'm using the correct name and password. It lets me log in on both EA Download Manager and the bf2142 section of EA.com
-I'm using my own CD key, that I've always used. It's always worked up until now.
-I'm patched up to 1.5, and using the DVD version of the game (not EA download manager, which I don't have installed right now.)
-I can successfully retrieve both my account name and password
-The error message I recieve when logging into my own account, the only one I ever use, is "This CD Key has already been registered with another account." It has not, it's registered to the account I'm trying to log into.
never as simple as just installing it and going online with an EA game...
help appreciated. I think I might've had this problem before and fixed it myself, but I can't remember the fix. --- If you can't slam with the best, then jam with the rest. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3050/barkleyrealuc0.jpg
I...can't think of anything... I mean. I recently formatted my HDD a week ago, reinstalled the game. Only thing that sucked for a while was trying to locate Northern Strike again, but using my old credentials, I was able to log in without hassle.
