I will do both eventually, but right now which one do you think is more important?

I'd say weaponsmithing, so you only have to obsess over perfecting one piece of equipment and don't overwhelm yourself with 5 or whatever armor things.

Definitely weaponsmithing. Gladiators are meant to do dps. Can't do that with a crappy weapon.

Because there is only one "best". So its one weapon or five armor pieces.

Gonna warn you, weapons are harder to craft than armor. With armor most pieces come out green or blue (some always come out blue, others blue or yellow). With weapons, you first need to make a craft that is white or green. Then you need to use the green craft for another craft which can come out green or blue.
