You don't have to be Nobuo Uematsu to compose good music. Listen to music of Threads of Fate, Terranigma, Wild Arms 1,2 ad 3. (I Haven't played Wild Arms 4 and 5 so I don't know). Lunar Silver Story Complete and Lunar Eternal Blue Complete. Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3. Secrets of Mana. Legend Of Dragoon. Lufia 1 and Lufia 2 Rise of the Sinistrals. Tales of Phantasia. Phantasy Star I, II and IV.

Final Fantasy XIII and Type-0 both had great OST's.

XIII's soundtrack was awesome.

XIII's was pretty meh. Had a few memorable tracks and many forgettable ones.

Fingers crossed that with Yoko Shimomura composing for this one we'll see some good stuff on display.
