Do you guys want the Japanese audio with English subtitles?

#11Sheron974Posted 7/7/2013 6:59:09 AM
Please understand that we had to ask this question.
I know that in US or other english speaking nations, English IS your native language, but for us in France, neither japanese, nor english are our native language.

So for us, if we must have something that is not our native language, many of us would prefer the original voices (japaneses) over the english ones.

But I understand that for you guys it's another thing.

I only care about Japanese audio if a game is actually set in Japan.

The game is set in Japan, at least part of the game's world is based on Japan, the city Noct is from.

Nope......I want to hear the game in my native language.........English

But there is a group, a big group rather that wants it to be in Japanese. Japanese language sometimes can capture the emotion better.

It isn't as big as you think it is.........and that is very debatable.

Maybe it is as big as I think....

@resi5fan Did you read the interview? Nomura pointed out the same thing, like lip sync and disc capacity. But the solution mentioned to Nomura was a limited edition with no English audio, just English text. That solved the development time, disc capacity and lip sync. They have to do the English subtitles anywhere regardless of what language it is in.

Yes I did read the interview. I just don't think Square Enix would dare release a version in the US and PAL regions without english voice-acting simultaneously with the launch of the standard English VA edition. Have they ever done that?

but it isn't japan........it is a fictional world. Just because the architecture of a location is inspired by a place it doesn't make it that place

@resi5fan I get what you mean, it is a bold move for them to release it without the English Audio. But there is a group of people do want it in Japanese.

If they include the feature, then that's cool. I'll probably still play it with English voices and subtitles though.
