Graphics in Ass Creed Unity make FF XV an overdue embarrassment

looking at the latest development vid for Ass Creed Unity, where they explain the graphics engine and A.I. made me realize that although I was never an Ass Creed fan (barely ever played the games really), graphically, in such a short time, Ubisoft was able to churn out an impressive looking game in way less time than the +9 year dev mess that is FF XV.
Add to that with the recent controversial leave of Hashimoto, chief designer of the Luminous Engine project...
S-E is really in a mess here..

Oh come on...Hashimoto leaving wasn't controversial. His work finishes, he leaves. It's not like SE had a reputation for good looking games before he joined...

It's a Ubisoft game, expect a big graphical downgrade before it releases.

Yeah. It's just apart from aspects of the tech being used in ARR, we haven't got our hands on any practical display of the technology,...and most mainline FFs have a reputation for being fantastic looking titles at the time of release (I'll ignore the apparent demaster/downgrade over time of the XIII trilogy). As I said...it's not like SE don't have a ton of technical wizards who can help make great looking games anyway.

Wasn't there something of a debacle with the engine for FFXIII, where Toriyama never gave the engineers a desired spec for the engine until very late in development so they couldn't focus and optimize etc because the goalposts kept moving? I mean I could be wrong and it could all have gone south with Luminous but eh.

Graphics wise, western developers has always been a step ahead from japanese. This is no surprising. My guess is also that AC has bigger development team anyway because it has been so successful franchise and mass-market product, thus the conveyor belt must be running all the time for Ubisoft at all cost.

Prepare for the mindbown: Ubisoft is nearly twice as large as Nintendo.
