i read somewhere that later on in the game you can drive yourself around, so they better make it realistic so you can run over a lion or something and breaks its legs off

MILD SPOILER!
You get to drive the jeep around shortly after you do the first big trophy (cheetah) mission, and yeah you can run into animals, but your jeep acts like it hit a wall and the animal appears to get away with no injuries. Anna (sits in back of jeep) leans forward and tells you off for the reckless driving.
