I honestly don't know. This isn't a competitive game and some people have told me no you won't get banned while others have told me yes you will.

If you're modifying the game data, you will get banned. If you are modifying game settings in-game, you will not get banned. If the game data reads settings that can not be modified in-game from an external folder created by installing the game and you modify the contents of that folder, you should not get banned. AFAIK.

VAC is not very good at detecting memory modifications. VAC is more for things like D3D Hooking for aimbots and stuff like that. I used multiple memory hacks in tf2 for a long time, and never got VAC banned.

I'd say you're better off being safe rather than stupid.

For this game, VAC will most likely detect things like differences in game files. So, if you modify your game files (maybe including FOV fix), you might get kicked or something, but you will never actually get "banned" from playing online.

I don't think you know how the FoV fix is implemented. None of those tweaks directly modify game files.

You take a file out of the data.pak, you change some settings, and you put it into the data folder, so it gets used over the original. VAC scans this file, sees that it is different, and kicks. They may only kick for values that affect other players, though. So you might not get kicked at all for FOV. They might not even do this method of anti-cheat for this game, so who knows.
