Would anyone mind detailing the Specialty Runs?

>Plat thread
They lock too quickly, too often. Waffles has no stamina.

>abused the sweet spot
There wasn't a need. Just sticking to the leftside on the bottom.

>significant troubles
Some woes here and there. Nothing too major. An hour or two on some rough spots.

>bomb planting
Recall that different attacks have different drain aside from application rates. T and S are ideal. Seems like 'fire rage' doesn't leave cores for such moves and doesn't apply them to foes outside damage kills while it is active. The L3+R3 can cause two bombs while netting an HP chest worth of HP orbs (seems that way) for half meter. t0/t3 and likely both TR leave a 'core' on the ground where they impact.

>the ruling on Deimos assist
I don't remember use making one. It wasn't strictly against our rules by technicality. The call is yours to make. An extra challenge if you avoid it. Even if we made a call, I don't consider it serious enough to hold it against a run.

>dandy
And how. Fine even.

>look into it
By all means.

>their philosophy
True enough.

>dogs in Action games
A mystery to all. Mystifying, it is.

>good thing
Too right.

>without auto-shatter
Or a convenient Gorgon assist. Imagine how effective Gorgon Traps (CoO) would have been in this outing. Oh lawd.

>obnoxious damage
On the house.

>closer to GoWII
The golden standard.

>Easy testing
Normal is close enough. They don't test higher settings. Just the combat guys for main entries. Likely GoS and CoO were never tested much at all on higher settings if at all for VH. They might not even have known different settings altered magic, grabs, etc.

>only one of her
When there should have been three. Let's see if GoW:A actually rights this wrong or just compounds the error threefold...

>hunt down Morpheus
The nerve of them even using this nothing...

>how
The desire's of men can be a strange and wondrous thing. After all, there are men who seek other men. Youth even. Somewhere out there, there is a demographic for lemon party beyond shock imagery.

>DmC
Pastebin covers much: http://pastebin.com/qjpWCTFR

>kitchen burns down
Like a cane field in a high wind...

>hasn't failed us yet
Regrettable.

>improvement enough
>MP
Of course. Just what we needed. What was clamored for by a lunatic, casual fringe.

>couldn't give them different uses
Amazing how they can bungle even these. Efreet was especially telling (pushing foes away from the blast). AQ's mashing is funny for mostly missing targets. Still, the worst spell is likely EoA for GoS. So very bad. It only deserves being an item and even then it would have a flaw in the form of the recovery window (even if it kept i-frames and damage).

>rage run
A run for 'keeping it up'. Viagra+?

>how to prefer Snake
That demographic noted earlier?

>rewarding casuals
All I feel is rage.

>separate Arisen
I still hope it is like the NG+ 'god' fight, but possible to do over and over (for offline it would need to randomly generate a foe).

>fought alongside them
It needs to. It doesn't look that hard. Seems like kicks worked good on it.

>big reason to upgrade
Maybe we'll have less upgrade levels since there are less moves tied just to it these days. Steeper upgrades with each level then? (rather than 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0, perhaps 1.0/2.0/3.0).

>how rapidly it fills
As it is in the demo, it fills insanely fast. Review the comprehensive thread for links and coverage.

>weird choices
Seems to be their calling card.

>at least they're in
Gifts, horses, mouths, etc.

Hi krazyninjaman3! Why are we putting this in spoiler tags...?

Just sticking to the leftside on the bottom.

Always preferred the top myself (even without the sweet spot).

Recall that different attacks have different drain

Noted. I find landing Bane Plumes and Spirit with the additional square hits kill faster.

>fire rage only plants bombs in killed foes

Curioser and curioser. Think the bombs will be stronger than TB's?

The L3+R3 can cause two bombs while netting an HP chest worth of HP orbs (seems that way) for half meter.

Does it plant two bombs in the same foe when it connects, or are the bombs stationary like Unfortunate Remains?

The call is yours to make.

We'll see how it goes.

Imagine how effective Gorgon Traps (CoO) would have been in this outing.

Keres wraiths made easy.

Likely GoS and CoO were never tested much at all on higher settings if at all for VH.

It shows.

Let's see if GoW:A actually rights this wrong or just compounds the error threefold...

She needs to be interruptable, or at least open to damage longer. Even the AoS isn't very efficient against her.

The nerve of them even using this nothing...,

And then not letting us twist his lungs into balloon animals.

After all, there are men who seek other men.

A queer thing that. Or those that keep women for "companionship".

Somewhere out there,

Over the rainbow?

there is a demographic for lemon party beyond shock imagery.

Not sure what lemon party means, but I can guess.

>DMC

Sounds like a lot of time is being wasted on this story of theirs.

>being a dick=badass
>no taunting

So very tsundere.

Speaking of the directional inputs, a preview claimed MGR used the analog stick heavily in combos:

"...it is truely is Bayo lite. But that is actually not a knock on rising at all. Its a bonus. That reason is that while it compies alot of moves from its P* sister, It also explores things in new and exicting ways. The number one thing rising does that i haven't seen in any action game, baring the cutting mechanic, is the way the analog stick creates modifiers for combos. Im not just talking about what direction you push, it felt that like the whole game was geared towards using the analog sticks way more than you normally word in this type of game. The drawback of this is that there is a learning curve and many people will initially play very badly, as you have seen on some of these recent videos.; But once you get it, oh **** you really get it."

(Also, the upgrade currency will be the left hands of enemies).

>cool parry
>EPIC parry
>stupidly easy to get compared to RG's just inputs, which still damaged you if it wasn't perfect

"F*** you."-DINO

>RG's release system was tops

And how.

>jump cancelling is only for air normals

WUT.jpg

>DMD gives enemies new AI and attacks

Think DmC will do this? I don't.

>Vergil's Summoned Swords were HAX
>will probably replace with cinematic crap

Will certainly be.

Like a cane field in a high wind...

The true meaning of unemployment.

What was clamored for by a lunatic, casual fringe.

It was a virtually nonexistant fringe. I don't think I've seen a post clamoring for it before GoW:A's announcement. Why not expand weapon movesets? The petrification system? More environmental options, friendly fire and the old collisions back?
#496SBK91(Topic Creator)Posted 10/1/2012 11:07:23 AM
Still, the worst spell is likely EoA for GoS.

Without a doubt. No significant knockback, bad against crowds, weak, etc. Mashing square was safer and stronger.

Viagra+?

It shall be done.

That demographic noted earlier?

An old male running around in a muscle suit? I can see why he appeals to them.

I still hope it is like the NG+ 'god' fight,

Referring to the Seneschal? It's nice to fight a humanoid boss.

Steeper upgrades with each level then?

That would work.

Been dragging my feet in GoS. Only made it to the Geryon/Harpy fight:

Worked on the Geryon/Harpy fight for three or four hours. Tried lots of different attack methods. Staying close and getting off Spirit hits with a few squares, spamming Plume, using Plume then trying to get off a Spirit. My best attempt was with t,s,t, but sometimes uses Ascension after Plume. Got it down to one Geryon before, had staggered it twice, it teleported, Kratos used Ascension, and died. Such a pisser.

The harpy is the primary problem. I've been using taz's method of double jumping to avoid the grab, but if the Geryon teleports around the same time I'm screwed. It often attacks off screen, screws me up by using the wing flap instead of the grab, hides behind the Geryon's globe, and makes me nervous in general. It often dies around when the second Geryon has staggered twice.

Geryons aren't a problem aside from the disjointed hitbox of the hand shock and the occasional static shock.

The Vortex

-"Grab whoring. Big time. When the lighting starts to come, you may opt to take to the top left corner where one bolt strikes near without hitting us (if flush to the corner) while destroying enemies just as it would you.

NOTE: Remember to evade, parry or leap over the spinning grab of the Harpies."

Sunken Atlantis:Chamber

-Being free of the distractions helps. Again, collisions could have been so much better in this entry if they just kept knockbacks (half) and full collisions even at a static for 10/5 (rather than 3/0). Imagine them if they scaled for 5x damage on VH with the old system. Geryon would get JACKED. Not sure how much it would help with Geryon/Harpy (would have to work at it *maybe have Geryon knock the Harpy into itself*) or Wraith/Cyclops. Petrification being as it should have been would cover such things outside PAIN+.

Sunken Atlantisath C

-Lovely Gorgons. Odd that they couldn't port Queens from CoO or make a blue Gorgon (Assassin) with 'flash' and slightly more HP.

>Geryon/Harpy
Good times.

>multiple methods
Mostly about mastery of keeping the Harpy alive (not getting grabbed helps). Such bad design to have it instant killed via reverse AND infinitely deal damage to us (and lots of it) until we reverse.

Fighting 2x Geryon is for Shin and Taz to contend with. 2spooky4me

>weird hit box
>off-screen attack
>instant shield
You love it. I'll make the next thread for comparing SWFU1 and SWFU2 with an old bit of copypasta at the start.
