XSEED If your listening, PLEASE LOCALIZE this!!

Linear progression, have you heard of it? You can't have The 3rd without SC, you can't have Zero without The 3rd (well, not if you want to get the full impact), you can't have Ao without absolutely everything that's come before. Let's just let XSEED concentrate on the mountain of work that is SC for now and leave the fantasies of the Crossbell games for another year.

I thought games 4 and onwards were different stories and characters

Also which game is this? The 4th one?

Mhm. THis game-->Trails 2-->The 3rd-->Zero-->Ao--(?)-->Nayuta-->Next Next Kiseki

The only way this game will come within any reasonable timeframe (when I say that, I'm talking the next five to ten years) is if Xseed gave up the license and another publisher picked it up who went to the Vegh college of languages. That is the only cost-effective way to get these games. That's when the English-speaking fans ask themselves if they would rather:
A) Not play the game at all ever.
B) Play the game in a language they don't understand.
C) Play the game with a lackluster-to-poor translation.

It won't bother me playing the game in Japanese audio with English subtitles and text but that's just me...

I personally turn all voice acting in games off so I'd rather have the non voiced edition of Zero localized.

But SC isn't out yet and its going to take a long time to localize it and localize the 3rd as well.

Sort of. They take place in a new part of the continent with different main party characters, but it picks up on story threads from the first three games and there are a lot of returning characters from those games.

As for not dubbing the voices, that's generally not a good idea -- it satisfies the hardcore fans fine, but it gives the appearance of a half-finished translation and doesn't appeal to a wider audience as much. Now I guess since this game is already niche they could just go with it; we'll see. It's not going to happen before SC and 3rd in any case.

(I also think that not dubbing the voices would remove part of the point of this new version -- if you're just going to leave the voices in Japanese, you might as well just translate the original zero and put it on PSN so that Vita players can play it.)

Kern covered the basics so I'll just add that there are major elements from the first three games that Zero assumes the player already knows. Ao is far far worse and going in without having played all four previous games just doesn't work.

Never going to happen. If FC didn't sell well enough for them to make SC a priority, there's no chance they will localize a game that has an even bigger script than SC

To be fair, even if this game had sold like hotcakes XSEED can't afford to make any Kiseki game a priority if they want to remain in business.

Agreed. It just is time consuming and they need to sell stuff in the meantime to be able to keep paying employees.

I'd definitely love to see Zero and Ao and the other ones someday, but really I don't care so much what version makes it here. All I care about is that some version makes it here.
