I am around level 13, dunmer scout and was wonderin about a good longsword thats not too hard to get. i currently have a dwarven longsword and umbra, and those are the primary ones i use. If anyone has some suggestions it would be appreciated.

Try an Elven longsword.

At your level you should be able to find Glass longswords. Or you could always just get a permanent bound longsword (it has the highest base damage of any weapon in the game).

Not a good thing if you want a one-handed weapon. It's a claymore.

any idea as to where i could find a glass longsword? would rockmilk cave prove to be usefull? in the main quest ive only closed the gate in kvatch and got a sigil stone that fortifies streangth 10 pts. and absorbs on hit 20pts. should i use that to enchant? can i start finding the other oblivion gates yet or do i have to go farther in the story?

True true. However, the TC never specifically said he wanted a one-handed longsword. I was just merely giving him another option.

Rockmilk is a good cave to find loot. You'll do just fine in there. Also, marauders typically carry bladed weapons (bandits usually use blunts) so any marauder dungeon will give you a good chance to find a glass longsword:

Sure, you can use it if you want. You won't get both effects on the same item though. One effect is for Armor (Fortify Strength) the other is for a weapon (Absorb ___).

can i start finding the other oblivion gates yet or do i have to go farther in the story?

Yes you can start finding other gates right now. More will open up as you progress through the main quest though.

a claymore is NOT a longsword.
iron LONGSWORD, steel LONGSWORD, elven LONGSWORD, dwarven LONGSWORD.... need i continue? i think you get my point.

anyways... for now, umbra will suffice, give it a couple more levels and youll start finding magic longswords... either elven or glass... i cant quite remember, kinda tired.
