This game does have split screen multiplayer, but you cant just skate around the city with your buddy, you only can do these minigames.

Skate: Pick a level, then the first player sets a trick and the other plays have to copy it. {There is a time limit}

Spot Battle: Pick a level, then see who has the highest score at a spot. You take turns. {There is a time limit}

Thats it, two minigames. No free play, not even races. I never play these, I just take turns playing single-player with friends. The strange thing is that online has free play and races and those mini games as-well. So if you want to skate with a friend so bad, buy another PS3 or X-box 360, buy the game again, and then you can play to together with a cost of 700$ or so...

Theres no split screen its party play, you have to take turns setting a trick and the other person copies it. Another mode lets you take turns at a gap and trying to get the highest score you can.
