Ninja Gaiden Black vs Ninja Gaiden Sigma

What is the difference between the Xbox and PS3 games?

Obviously the PS3 graphics but is it effectively the same game or are they completely different stories?

Effectively the same game, with differences here and there.

Sigma is simply a remake of Black. The main differences are the graphics, the new weapon for Ryu (Dual Katanas) and 3 extra chapters to play as Rachel. There are also a few different missions in misson mode and some of the stages have been altered a little bit.

Remind me again, what is the benefit of being loyal to any one console?

From what Ive read, the most prominent differences seem to be:

-Graphics (duh).
-UTs and ETs can now be built simply by charging over time, whereas in Black you *had* to burn essence from enemies.
-In Sigma C1, you start with ONLY the katana, whereas in Black you had Lunar and the nunchucks (I hear on MN mode in Sigma, you dont get the chucks at all, but Im not sure if that's right or not).
-Enemy AI is supposedly improved
-The Armlet of Tranquility is gone, and the Kitetsu no longer drains your life (to make up for the Armlet of Tranquility being gone).
-There is no "New Game+" on Sigma. meaning you cant start over and run through a mode with all of your equipment anymore.

Sigma, I believe, is also missing some of the extras from Black? Im not familiar with all of Black's extras, though, I just thought I had heard someone complain about that.

-Black still has a first stage UT executable without burning essence.

-Black Starts you with only the Katana as well

-Black is more difficult Ai

-There was never a New game + in Black only the first NG.

-Sigma is missing 2 exclusive costumes from Black. Black is missing the dual swords, a boss and the playable character.

just thought i'd help clear some things up

Everything else I believe you on, but...

I could have sworn EVERYONE Ive talked to has said you started with Lunar and Nunchucks in mission 1 on Black. In fact, Ive been told by several Black veterans now (who dont have Sigma) "Use the nunchucks to do mission 1 on Master Ninja mode. it makes it a lot easier."

I mean, I dont know from experience, so I cant really say... but if that one's not right there seem to be an *awfully* lot of confused people, or something.

^ there ya go. Stick with Paranoia's list. He seems to be more accurate than me. >_>

And for the record, I hate the "shake sixaxis" thing. It's just pointless.

Thanks, abaddononion2, I just played all the three games too much, so yeah... too many differences for me.
