Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +
Questions XD

Okay I have a couple, but the one I posted on the Answers aren't getting answered. Oh well, that's my luck. Anyways, play-asia is out of stock, and I would like to know where else I can get this game for cheap. The ones I find on Ebay are like $60.. with some being $100+. And since I have a silver slim, what Swap Magic do I need? Just 3.6/8, or do I need a tool with it as well. Again where do I buy it, and how much for? And last one, I previously had KH:CoM (for ps2) but some a hole stole it. It was in English, will the one ordered with Final Mix+ be English, or will I have to use Swap Magic on it as well? Thanks in advance you guys! :D | |
Oh and yeah, there's a FAQ stickied, but all the links, don't work. | |
I bought KH2FM Ultimate Hits 2 weeks ago on eBay for under 50$. I'm sure there are others, keep checking as to when some of the bigger asia sellers restock. As for the Swap Magic, I eBay'd that one as well. 29 bucks and change. If you go to http://www.swapmagic3.com/ they have a lisy of resellers that may save you a few bucks. For a slim Ps2 you'll need what's called a Flip Top. The link posted above should provide info on how to purchase and install that as well. As for versions of SM, I use 3.8 on my chubby Ps2, but I'm about 80% sure you could use 3.6 or 3.8 on yours. 3.8 has more features and isn't any more costly, so you may as well get that. Finally, Re:CoM is in Japanese, through and through. Even the cutscenes. Thus, the language barrier will hit you much harder than with FM. My suggestion, if you really want to play it, is to buy a new American version. Failing that, you'll have to SM the KH2FM one. | |
Guess who had to wait three weeks for Play-Asia to realize they were out of even the Ultimate Hits edition? All because I was trying to save a dollar. -_-' http://www.yesasia.com/us/kingdom-hearts-ii-final-mix-bargain-edition-japan-version/1010908793-0-0-0-en/info.html That's Yesasia's U.S. site. I order stuff from there all the time. --- Maybe if this signature is witty enough, someone will finally love me. | |

I looked.. at www.swapmagic3.com and my console (my luck sucks -.-) is not on the list of models. It's a SCPH-77001, which isn't on the list. I don't know anything about this whole japanese buying thing, or the swap-magic. as of right now the cheapest I found is on yesasia.com | |
Oh and also, say I wanted to put the english patch on.. what all do I need for that, a bunch of cords? | |
I got my Swap Magic from here: http://www.keepgaming.com/swma36pl.html I also got the Fliptop cover for my SCPH-90001. But after dismantling my PS2 and taking the original cover off, I realized the Fliptop cover didn't even fit. -_-' (The 90000 has some -stupid- ridge. Grumble.) Then I kinda figured out what the Fliptop cover even does ...and I realized I could just use a small screwdriver to hold down some little button in a hole near the bottom right corner. So I play Final Mix/burned games with no lid and a leaning screwdriver. To use the patch (legally, ha!), you'll need to put Final Mix in a computer's DVD drive, then get a program (ex. ImgBurn) that can read and copy the disc's data (about 4 GB) onto your computer. Also known as ripping the disc's ISO. On the lovely translator's blog, http://xeeynamo.blogspot.com/2011/07/kingdom-hearts-ii-final-mix.html#more download http://www.2shared.com/file/qFYBL_c5/KH2PatcherRev4.html (A program that applies the patch to the ISO, the patcher) and http://www.2shared.com/file/0Fb76FA-/english_rev5.html (The patch itself) Then, put the ISO, patcher, and patch in the same folder on your computer. Drag the patch onto the patcher. A window will pop up and you can type in the ISO's filename (ex. KH2FM.ISO). The ISO will be modified. Into English! <3 Using a program, like ImgBurn, you can take the patched ISO and burn it onto a DVD. Hopefully your computer's DVD drive can do that. And I/someone can explain the Swap Magical part when you get that far. --- Maybe if this signature is witty enough, someone will finally love me. | |

I thought getting swap magic is a way to not mess with the warrenty on your playstation? To get to the sixth screw on my playstation, I have to puncture it. | |
You make me sound like I know what I'm talking about. :) I'm just lucky. Like when I figured out how to make my Fliptopless PS2 (with a detachable lid) still useful. I just learned how to play Final Mix two months ago by reading old topics on this message board and watching YouTube videos. Though I had to do a little improv since I couldn't find any videos not of an older Slim model. ...And then the English patch was finished just last month. >_> (Not that beating the game in Japanese wasn't amusing in its own way.) And the patch stuff was kinda explained here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/935702-kingdom-hearts-ii-final-mix-/59609086 Anyway, just order Final Mix and Swap Magic for now. That'll take 3ish weeks, so chill. Assuming you don't snap them in two when you finally get them, there's no way you can screw anything up. --- Maybe if this signature is witty enough, someone will finally love me. |
