I want new hairstyles and stuff, but are the sim points like real money or something?

You should got free 1000 points from buying the game. To get more, you have to pay real money for it.

100 Sim Points = $1, in the Sims Store, so ya. There are alternative ways to get them for free though, which can't be explained here for obvious reasons.

Here's some user-created hair if you know how to install .package mods:

"....... Are you a ****?"

You pay what, like ten bucks for 1000 sim points?

I didn't buy my version at a store, I downloaded it from the website.
Do I still get free sim points or did you have to buy the acual disk?

As long as you got a serial number with the game you should get the points. Just register it at the official site.
