Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES

Ah the nostalgia. I forgot how annoying this boss was back in the original P3. When I played FES last time on the PS2, by the time I reached the 3rd block I was hunting down Death with Helel and Satan casting Armageddon. So needless to say, I did not have a problem with this boss 4 years ago.

That said, since PSN's version of FES cannot data transfer I was forced to think of a new strategy to kill him. Luckily I had a healthy supply of Magic Mirrors and fortunately had Rebellion (on my Orobas) and Flauros with Sharp Student. It wasn't perfect though since even with these skills I wasn't doing criticals enough and Akihiko ended up dead when the boss was down to 1HP or something (random Hamaon cast on him). I figured "Meh, Akihiko can stay dead. 2K exp is hardly a loss at this point" and took my hard earned win.
(For reference: MC was 41, Akihiko was 38, Junpei at 33 and Koromaru at 36).

Needless to say, I am relieved I to be done with this boss for this playthrough. I simply have to bide my time until I gain access to Armageddon+Victory Cry. 2nd playthrough, I'm going to enjoy slaughtering everything in sight with it.

^I like your style. Really, NG+ is the only reason I put up with bosses that can OHK me. Because I know that once I unlock that one broken thing the game allows, I am going to enjoy ripping them a new hole to breathe out of. And that is where all my enjoyment comes from the game.

This is my first persona game.

I am right now on sept 26, and attempted this boss again.

I had Yuki, Akihiko, and ken What really helped was having the Lovers persona - Saki something, with heal all. Anywho, I had my MC with great status, and had everyone support except ken for beginning round to debuff the boss. The boss hits hard with the aoe, but my party barely manages, and me & yuki heal all, while Ken lightning attacks, and Akihiko debuffs, then attack. (Yuki with 30% HP ring is a must!)

Thankfully, the boss had many times tried to use the hama skill, where it only succeeded once. Did some critical all out attack at least twice. Near 25% health, he wipes out 2 of my members. I start to panic, but had yuki revive them all, hoping he doesn't use the aoe attacks. He didn't, and I got back all my party, and started using magic mirror and did 200 damage when he attempted to use the fire aoe spell. I manage to win, and stopped playing, satifisied that I beat a incredible hard boss.

I decided to hold off on him for a bit and tried again when I got Shinjiro (shame you don't keep him long) Him + Rebellion = butt hurt boss.

The problem is that you're making your mc the only healer. By that time single target healing on bosses is not good enough. And levels matter a lot so that level 33 junpei is really ineffective.

As much as I like dogs in rpgs, koro is simply ineffective for many bosses as his two options for damage are fire spells and his basic attack. If you got yukari decently levelled try switching him out with her so you have better healing. And never underestimate the combo of rakukuaja and tarunda for upping your survival on single bosses.
