SamayyPosted 7/6/2012 1:36:55 PM | Well, this is my first time playing any persona game. I'm about 5 days from fighting the Emprorer and Empress bosses and im at about lvl 14-15 for all my party members. Someone recommended I level more but it takes about 40 battles for me to level up? I've only played a few rpgs but this seems absurd. It would take hours and hours. Am I doing it wrong? |

Train around that area because that's the place with the best training. If you have gotten that far, then yeah, it will still take a while to level up in battles. --- "The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed." |
Super SlashPosted 7/6/2012 2:15:57 PM (edited) | Always go for the EXP-increasing cards after a battle. If you end the battle with the MC, you're guaranteed to get a Shuffle Time. Also, fighting strong Shadows (flashing red) net you a lot of EXP as well, but they're called strong for a reason.
Level 14-15 is actually pretty good for that point in the game btw. I'm usually only level 12 or so by the time that fight is over. |
Samayy (Topic Creator) Posted 7/6/2012 2:55:24 PM | Yea I reached the barrier. My problem is that a couple guides have said that you should let your teammates fight shadows alone, is this actually a legit way too train? Also a guide says you should ditch your teammates and climb the tower, don't fully understand why you would do that. |

Soloing is also a bad idea IMO. There's no reason to do it when you can just climb the tower with a full party. |

Stupidly didn't have a save decently far away to grind a couple levels so I just restarted. |
HouseTPosted 7/6/2012 10:54:12 PM | My rule of thumb is that if you can reach the current boundary for the block of Tartarus that you're exploring and consistently win well against the shadows on the upper floors there, then you're probably ready to face whatever boss you have next.
I'd consider a shift in tactics if fighting a boss is an issue after that, as more leveling become counter-productive after a while. Consider different skills or personas in your fights, and remember that most bosses shift to tougher skills/tactics once their HP drops below half. Sometimes trial and error is the only way to go, but remember that everyone has a boss or two that for whatever reason causes them problems.
I rarely split the party up unless I'm on a lower floor trying to find a stairway ASAP. It doesn't seem overly productive for leveling. And the only time I ever solo with the MC is during the unfortunate battles when all of the other party members fall and I just cannot revive them. --- "If Batman and Taker fought every day for a year, the final score would be Batman: 364, Taker: 1 (at Wrestlemania)." - The Caveman |

I'll keep at it but im very happy with my second playthrough. Started exploring a bunch of new persona fusions, taking into account weaknesses and strengths for bosses, etc. Also does anyone know if theres increased experience before a full moon? Im getting like 100 exp per battle when normally I would have got 30..... |
