Extra Vocations Guide

Hi! So after surfing on the boards and seeing how many people actually need help on getting the extra vocations, I thought I could post my tricks here, even though I already posted my hints on the IGN cheats section and on GameWinners.

Extra Vocations Guide
************************
------------------------------
GLADIATOR VOCATION
------------------------------
First, make sure Abbot Jack of Alltrades is back to Alltrades Abbey. Next, go downstairs of the Abbey, and talk to the purple person standing in front of the Inn. He will give you the "Gladiator Graduator" quest. All you need to do is defeat a certain number of slimes with a Super High-Tension Dragon Slash. Dragon Slash is a MP-free ability that a few classes can learn, and to achieve Super High-Tension you must use "Egg On" on the same character multiple times. Note that when you are on a Tension of 50, there is 50% chance to successfully achieve Super High-Tension (Tension of 100). Just keep Egging On the same character until you achieve this. A quick way to finish this quest is to go to go to Newid Isle and repeatedly engage a battle with a Slime. Chances are it will not be alone. You must not let the Slimes merge into a Slime Stack or a Slime King, as only Slimes count for this quest. Use Snooze on every turn to make them sleep, keep Egging On the character with Dragon Slash, and use Dragon Slash when the Tension is at 100. You can easily finish this quest with only one battle, as most of the time three or more Slimes will appear in battle. Return to the Abbey, talk to the purple person again, and you will have access to the very powerful Gladiator Vocation.
------------------------------
ARMAMENTALIST VOCATION
------------------------------
Make sure Abbot Jack of Alltrades is back to the Alltrades Abbey. Go inside the abbey. Near the entrance, you will find a person with a red hat (Windy). Talk to him. He will give you the "Elementary Training" quest. This quest requires a lot of patience. You must defeat a certain number (I had to defeat 2, but I think in the japanese version you need 3) of Metal Slimes, but with a character that has used the ability "Wizard Ward". It must be that very character that delivers the final blow. Up to this point, your characters are probably very good levels and the Metal Slimes will always flee. To keep them in battle, you need low level characters. Use two new level 1 characters made in Stornway and have them die. You can find Metal Slimes at the Quaratomb, west of Coffinwell. If possible, try to get two characters dead, and the other two characters with low health. Engage any Metal Slime you encounter, and use Wizard Ward as soon as possible. Have the other character defend for the rest of the battle. Next, simply attack the Metal Slime until it dies After you defeat the given number of Metal Slimes, go back to the Abbey and talk to Windy. You will now have access to the Armamentalist vocation.
------------------------------
PALADIN VOCATION
------------------------------
Make sure one of your characters knows the warrior ability "Whipping Boy". Go to Gleeba, in the Djust Desert. Enter the Mirage Mahal palace. Go on the roof, move north, and talk to Brunhild. You will receive the quest "Taking Soul Control", in which you need to successfully use "Whipping Boy" ten times. This quest is probably the easiest for unlocking other vocations. It is possible to complete it in a single battle. Go in the desert and try to engage in a battle with Axolhotls. They usually appear in groups and attack weaker characters in your party. Use Whipping Boy on your weakest character and have the other characters defend. You should complete the quest with only one battle. Return to Brunhild to unlock the Paladin vocation.

------------------------------
RANGER VOCATION
------------------------------
Make sure you have a character with the ability to use knives. Go southeast of Dourbridge, in direction of Zere Rocks. Before entering the forest that leads to Zere Rocks, talk to Odval. She will give you the "Ranger Changer" quest. This quest is very easy. Use the ability "Toxic Dagger" to poison a given amount of Hocus Chimaeras. Let them die by the venom, and not the other attacks. They each have about 70 HP in the forest that brings you to zere rocks; try to calculate the hits you give them then use Toxic Dagger. After defeating the given amount of Hocus Chimaeras, return to Odval. You will now have access to the Ranger vocation. Bows, Boomerangs and Axes, yay!
------------------------------
SAGE VOCATION
------------------------------
After gaining access to the Gittingham Palace, head North of the first floor, then go up the stairs. There should be a bookcase, so interect with it. A book (actually called The Supreme Sage) will start to talk, and will give you the "Sages in the Pages" Quest. What you have to do is finish off 5 great trolls with Frizz. I recently completed the game, and the only place I found Great Trolls was in the Realm of the Almighty, and I didn't get the chance to finish off 5 of 'em... I need to find another place! but according to the Battle Records, there's at least 2 places to find them... Anyway after completing the quest, talk to The Supreme Sage and you'll unlock the Sage Vocation!
------------------------------
LUMINARY VOCATION
------------------------------
I'm not sure if this one is post-game ONLY, but I found it after completing the initial story; Return to Gleeba and go in th ebuilding north of the Inn. Go to th eleft and talk to Applaudia, the girl with pink hair. She'll talk a bit about Luminaries, and give you the quest "A star is Born". All you have to do is defeat a moai minstrel with the Hot Lick ability. Simple right? Right... *!* I still haven't found any Moai Minstrel, so could someone tell me where I could find any? * ! *
*************************************

That's pretty much it, quickly made, so it's not really in-depth. But I need help; where can I find great trolls and moai minstrels? Thanks!

Great Trolls are in the last dungeon, in the prison-like room with the lava. You can't miss it.

I'm sorry, do you have the specific names? LIke the ones given in the Battle Records? Remember I don't have access to the Realm of the Almighty anymore, I completed the initial story -_-

And when you were talking about grottoes (for the moai minstrels), did you mean "Treasure Maps grottoes" or...?

Thanks

Never mind, I started using my brain just now and used the search bar xD

An easier way to do the Gladiator Vocation quest is to head back to Angel Falls and battle blue slimes. These won't form the Slime Stack or King Slime. Keep using Egg On on the sword-user and War Cry on the slime to terrify it.

Yeah, that could work too! And it's probably quicker, as they have less HP I think.

Still haven't found Moai Minstrels. Can anyone tell me where I can find them?
