Dragon Quest 9 post game? More like Farmville if you ask me.

Yes, I plan on completing the quests, and obtaining the legacy boss maps, but everything else to me just seems like farming to me. Maybe if I was made of infinite time, I would have no problem with this, but I don't, so I'm going to miss out on some cool stuff because of it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.

There's more post-game material than main game if you ask me.

In a sense perhaps, but this is all you can really do:

grind metals
get/trade grottos
rerun your best grottos over and over until you have the best equipment
collect ingredients for alchemy
fight some legacy bosses

which all gets very repetitive... still, it's nice to have this much to do but there's no illusion that they designed it in a way as to just increase playtime

There is also quests you can't play until you beat the game. The post game stuff is where the game really opens.

No.

Farmville is a pointless game designed to make you spend money continuously for the illusion of fun (and to get others to do the same).

DQ's postgame is something that you merely spend time on, and is mainly for those who want more challenging play than the main game, and for those who like to complete everything a game has to offer. Instead of adding replay value, they simply added post-play value to the game.

The video games don't give the illusion of fun. They actually are fun. Don't you dare compare my beloved games to Farmtrash.

change money to time and farmville to DQ9 and thats about right

*kills the same boss a ton of times to get one piece of equipment*

*spend alot of time farming items to turn that equipment into ultimate form which has a 10% success rate*

*spend alot of time killing the same metal enemies so u can get a class lv 99 10 times*

*get every class to 99 so u can get an accesory and send them back to lv 1*

*spend alot of time trying to get a certain skill to have a certain effect to complete a quest that very rarely gives a reward worth the time*

*spend alot of time trying to get a map that has a better metal monster with a better spawn rate so the above doesnt take as long*

your looking at people with 200+ hours who still havnt maxed everything out yet or even are close to it

if i was a completionist and wanted 100% of everything and never used any hoimi table or the such i would probably commit suicide

post games like a job without pay

Are you really trying to compare Farmville with the likes of the DQ series, or other video games? I wouldn't even consider Farmville to be an actual game at all.

Only if you spam your wall with requests (easily mitigated by using lists) and the recipients start playing.

The fact that it actively tries to get you to drag other people into it is enough for me.
