Vocation scrolls and weapon manuals MUST be carried to benefit someone. Those that give passive benefits (example: Thief's Theory) work just by being carried; ones that confer skills (like the wand manual, for Zing Stick) add the skill to your list just by being carried.

Of course, this means that only one person can benefit from each (I know of no way to obtain duplicates).

However, you can load people up with scrolls and manuals - each item may only be able to be held by one person, but nothing says a person is limited to only holding one of these items.

Any vocation can use the scroll, not just the 1 you got it for. However, if it is a weapon scroll, you must be able to equip that weapon first.
