Hey guys im a die hard kiseki fan and was wondering if any of u would want someone to translate the game in english with the dialogue included. im not japanese but i am a korean and theres recently a full script and walkthrough of the game in a korean website. if any of u are interested in seeing a translation from me just tell me and i'll act depending on how many replies i get.

SC is already in the process of being translated by XSeed, the company who brought the first chapter to the English market. Given the gianormous size of the script, it's unlikely you'd finish before they would even though SC isn't given their full attention.

yea i know that sc is under translation but im just offering a potential translation before the game actually comes out (since we had no official announcements of release date or anything yet). of course i wont finish by the time they release sc (if they ever do) so i was thinking of translating until the game comes out. when and if it does i'll drop the project, if its abandoned i'll continue. simple as that

They confirmed it will come out next year.

Do something for 3rd since that might never come out.

If the Second Chapter does well on Steam I can see absolutely no reason 3rd wouldn't make it to Steam too. A PSP release does seem unlikely though.

I just read an interview where an XSEED representative said that the 3rd is unlikely to come from XSEED. He said that he didn't "see how it's physically possible", but encouraged other developers to talk to Falcom directly if they're "up to the challenge".

Not the most hopeful stuff. Get cracking, please. A fan translation is the only way most English fans will be able to see the end of the story.

It's like that story in the bible where Jesus gets swallowed by a whale cause the sailors think he's a woman-Grand_Torrasque on Zelda:OOT

As someone who did work on the Trails in the Sky patch (we dropped it because we weren't finished when XSEED announced the rights)... why should anyone do it?

3.6m characters is A LOT OF TEXT and most fan translators do this work in their spare time- something my team doesn't have too much of anymore. Andrew Dice has said how long they've been working on the script and to this day, based on their tweets, they aren't done (one source: https://twitter.com/SpaceDrakeCF/status/377159249639387137 ).

What makes you think we'd be able to translate 3.6m characters of Japanese text in less than a year without going mad?

On top of that, it's an enormous waste of what free time we have left if we don't complete it and extremely rude to both XSEED and Carpe Fulgur who are amazing in their commitment to do such a thing when FC didn't meet sales expectations.

Also, if that "if they ever do" is based on what happened with Grand Knights History, remember- XSEED had the script translated. It was Vanillaware who dropped the ball and couldn't do the text insertion. Can you name any other game that XSEED has had to cancel after announcing?

Not the most hopeful stuff. Get cracking, please. A fan translation is the only way most English fans will be able to see the end of the story.

AND I will not pull people together to work on 3rd, either. As Sara above said, and as Andrew Dice has also said (Tom's also said this on the XSEED forums before they blew up), there's no reason for them NOT to translate 3rd if SC does well. ( https://twitter.com/SpaceDrakeCF/status/375983365419044864 )

This all has the possibility of stealing potential sales from XSEED/Carpe Fulgur, and if anyone realizes how much these sales will determine whether or not we get the next game in the series, then they won't grab for it either. To even begin to work on something when everything is in flux like this is a ridiculous notion.

I will be willing to pull together a group for something like this if, and ONLY if, we know it's absolutely not going to happen.

(And let me add, as a side note, that 'get cracking' is extremely rude to the people who put their free time into working on these translations for you people. If that's the attitude people are going to give to us, why would we even try?)
