Ridiculous loading times between turns

Is there anyway to decrease the loading time between each turns? this is getting ridiculous, I am at mid game and each turn take up to 1 minutes. I have 8gb of ram, i5 cpu, 5770 graphic card, and all graphic is set to low.

I can't even tap out during the loading to read some news online. This has totally killed it for me to continue to play.

Lower the settings and/or play on small maps. I usually play on small maps and add more civs.

By playing it on a potato you have given up your right to complain.

There's gotta be something else on either your computer or map setup that is slowing it down. I have an older/slower computer than you and have never waited more than 30 seconds for a turn.

Try playing it on a huge map with maxed number of players + city states.

Get to turns 200-300 and see if it doesn't take forever to process the computer turns for you.

Yes I play on a large map, I know now that people say play on smaller maps, but this is just stupid, if the game is not designed to be play on larger maps why do they even have that option? i find it very irresponsible for 2K to release expansion and after expansion packs but yet they are not willing to spend the resources to make this game work well on multi core cpus

I see it this way... the game is completely playable on normal map sizes. The option for larger is there IF you want to deal with the longer wait times. It's not like they're forcing you to play on larger maps or that waiting for a minute between turns makes the game completely unplayable.

Have you tried strategic mode? Speeds the game up a ton since you don't have to move from one side of the map to another constantly loading everything, and don't have to watch moving/attack animations.

It's a button on the bottom right side, or press F10 I think.

I suppose if people thought about real issues and needs instead of manufactured desires, the economy would collapse and we'd have total anarchy.

Oh well... I look forward to the day where I can play on the largest size map, with every civilzation AI available and takes 3000 turns to finish.
