Black Screen on start up

When I try to load DMC4 either with directx9 or direct x10, the game doesn't load and I get a black screen. I've searched for solutions but found nothing.

Are you sure you meet the minimum requirements?

What are your specs?

I checked system requirements lab and everything passed. However, my graphics card is integrated and my power supply is rather low (I think it was around 300W). This didn't stop me from being able to play fallout 3 though (laggy but still playable), so I doubt it's a specs thing.

Here are the specs

Processor AMD Phenom™ X4 9550 64-bit Quad Core Processor (2.20GHz, 2MB L3 Cache, 3600MHz HT3.0 Bus) with AMD64 Technology

Operating System Genuine Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium (64-bit) with Service Pack 1

Memory 4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2-2048MB modules)

Integrated Video ATI® Radeon™ HD 3200 Integrated Hybrid Graphics with up to 256MB of Shared Video Memory

Power Supply 300W Power Supply

Mmm, assuming you're on Vista you could try this.

Go to you (username) folder > AppData (hidden) > Capcom > DevilMayCry4 > and look for a file named config.ini.

Open it, look down to the resolution entry, set it to whatever resolution you normally play at, make sure refresh rate's also set to what it should be (usually 60Hz for an lcd).

I tried that and it didn't help.

Ah. Tried updating your Ati drivers? Only other thing I can think of right now.

Also did that, still does not work.

I think DMC4 hates me ._.

Well, honestly, if you can I'd say lose the integrated graphics anyways. Get a nice cheap Radeon 4670 or something, it's a decent enough system and you'd get a giant performance boost in other games too.

Yeah, I know integrated cards are bad but I'm not really a PC gamer; I only play tf2 mostly. Surprisingly the card is able to get me 45-60 fps consistently as long as the resolution is 800x600 with all settings high. That's why I never really bothered to upgrade my graphics card. I was hoping to be able to play DMC4 cause I didn't want to spend money on an xbox360 or ps3. Some nice games are coming out soon though, so I might buy a new graphics card after all.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Btw if I do get a new graphics card what's a good power supply manufacturer to buy from?

You wouldn't need a new power supply with the 4670 which is why I suggested it. Nice and undemanding card.

42 fps at 1280 x 1024 on this game with everything maxed out and 8x aa is pretty darned good, it could easily hit 60 if the aa was turned down a little bit.

A bigger card would probably require a 450-500 watt power supply though. Antec's pretty good, their Earthwatts 500 is currently going for $55 with free shipping on newegg, that's got enough juice to power a 4890 or GTX 275 if you wanted.
