Running on Intel Processor

#1Nosferatu2894Posted 9/3/2009 2:49:22 PM

I know Intels are far from the ideal choice, but budget constraints make one the probable buy.

AN has said that GW2 will run on "mid-range" PCs, anyone think I'll be able to run the game?

While nobody knows what the system requirements are going to be for the game yet, we can't even hazard a guess as to whether or not you'd be able to run it without some detailed system specs.

What sort of Intel processor? What video card? How much RAM?

Right right, oversight on my part.

Processor: Intel Celeron Processor 900 (2.2 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

RAM: 1024MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz SDRAM (1024MBx1)

As for the video card, I'm unable to locate the name.

This is a link to the PC I'm considering purchasing howver: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=445850

That uses an Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated video chipset. I would strongly suggest looking for another computer. The money you would spend on the laptop would also allow you to build a much more powerful desktop.

sorry, anet is making special programming so only amd processors are going to work.

what type of question is this? and this isn't the 90's AMD and Intel are fine, i've got an intel pro dou 3.16ghz in my comp. It's just preference.

if your over 2ghz odds are your fine, 1 gig of ram is pretty lol worthy though.

"intel pro dou 3.16ghz".....i guess you wanted to say "core 2 duo" ;)....there is no "pro duo" ;)

Intel Core i7 965 extreme edition

There wont be basic requirements until closed beta is over, just take something that is not over 3 years oldand you should be fine, at least for the processor.

I ran GW since day one with a 128 gt MB card, 1gig ram, and my old 2.4 cpu and I tought the game was decent until

I bought a new pc with 1gig vid card 4gig ram and a 3.0 dual core cpu all this on my 50" lcd.

As far as GW2 is concerned I'm convinced most of you could run it with a 500mb vid card 2gig ram and an old single core

3.0 cpu and direct x 9.

But my choice before the game comes out will be 2gig vid, 8gig ram and dual core 3.0 cpu with direct x 10.

Remeber they said we can run GW2 with direct x 10 but the game will not require it.

I would not recommend a single-core processor for someone looking to build a machine today. Even if it could run GW flawlessly I would say to go for a decent quad core if you want a processor you won't have to worry about replacing for quite some time, and a good dual core processor at the very least.

Neither do I Maoric but some people still do have them. My new dual core pc dates back to Mach 08.

Personnaly I would not buy a quad because at the most I might run 2 sofware no more at any given time,

so for me there is no need for the upgrade. However i will change vids and rams.
