I'm okay with this. Run along back to Kung Fu Panda 3.

I think you are expected to want to run these battlegrounds because they are supposed to be fun.....

I would rather run guild wars battlegrounds for nothing than have to run battlegrounds in wow just to keep up in gear very single season.

im still waiting on that hello kitty expansion...

The difference is that these "Battlegrounds" and especially WvW look way more fun to participate in than anything WoW offers.

Gamers shouldn't want handholding and an item treadmill to enjoy playing a game becuase they think they're accomplishing something. With GW2, you're going to enjoy actually playing the game so much that the vanity tiered items will be more than enough to keep you interested. Also, you're encouraged to experiment with every class. Personal story and the customization system keep the game interesting and varied for both PvE and PvP. Skeptics please go back to your game of choice while we enjoy a better game.

Well that is the problem, gamers like that whole carrot on a stick. That is one thing I am afraid of, no longevity to this game. People like progress and there seems to be very little in this game.

could be, but we got us some refugees from a carrot-on-a-stick game that's not even 5 months old.

OTOH, Anet's previous title held an large and active community longer than many true mmo's with all their carrots.

the major intention of the game is to remove item rewards as an incentive to play.

you should be playing for fun. it's not like people play fighting games, party games, or rpgs to get better gear; they play them because it's fun to compete with people(pvp), it's fun to play with friends for a common goal(pve), and because it's an interactive storyline (personal storyline).

see where i'm getting at? if gear is your only reason to play then why bother?

"i want gear because i need gear"--this is called circular reasoning.

"i want to play because i want to have fun"--this is what they're trying to attain.
