At first hated this game with human Guardian, then loved it with Norn Ele

Guardian just seemed to lackluster and dull for me. Granted I only got to level 8, but his buffs were too short and weak to be of much use as support. None of the skills were fun either, and I tried a few weapon combos. The story was pretty boring too. I kept attending aristocrat parties and fighting lame bandits.

Almost gave up, but decided to try out Norn Elementalist. What an improvement! Awesome flashy skills that do interesting things (meteor shower for one), and I get to fight giants and minotaurs with Eir, slayer of a dragon lieutenant.

Just sharing my experience, in case people were in my position.

Also gonna note how the Norn starting area was immensely more fun to explore than the human one. Caves with underwater passages that lead you to the other side of the mountain pass. Stuff like is what keeps me wanting to explore in an MMO.

I actually completely agree with you. I went in to the event thinking Guardian was the class for me. I didn't HATE it, per se, but I just wasn't really that into it. Really, it wasn't quite as supportive as I expected, or at least not in the way that I wanted it to be. So I gave Ele a try and had a BLAST. Not only was it fun offensively but I had a blast aiming for a support style too.

the support aspect of the guardian comes in at later levels once you start getting traits and utility skills.

i like the norn area the most so far.

i'm the opposite. i have human ele and norn guardian. guardian i swap between staff (kiting higher level mobs and groups) and sword/focus (soloing and groups of low level mobs).

some of the caves you can try to find ways to the top of the structures and pipes. not much up there, but still cool.
