Runes

Hey guys, how does runes work?

For example i have a minor rune of traveler with +5% magic find in the first slot and +6 vitality in second slot, but the +6 vitality is in gray which means i cant use it. So how can i use it, do i need to apply certain jewels or upgrades to it?

You need to equip 2 of that rune. The second buff listed is what a second rune would offer if equipped.
At early levels it is often better to use different runes whose first buff is what you want. At higher levels stacking similar types of runes will offer functionality that you can't get anywhere else and then it becomes more attractive to focus on rune sets.

Here is a list of runes and their cumulative effects.
Just so that you know what higher level runes will offer. It's not so bad if you are after some specific ability.

One question, can i apply the rune again to the chest twice so that i wont need to waste space on other armor parts?

Runes are just like a set bonus.

It needs to be 1 rune per piece. Which isn't so bad. If you want the +vitality you can get it better from jewels or even another type of rune.

Ok understood thanks.

Another question, i applied a +5 Vitality + 2Toughness nugget to one of my accessory, and i applied another +4 vitality jewel to my other accessory, and the problem is the +4 vitality jewel doesnt stack up to my vitality status and my hp. Why is this so?

do you guys find it better to use 1 set? or just stack all power for example. cos theres multiple different runes that give + power from just 1 piece.

It's hard to say because areas downscale you and put caps on your stat buffs.
If you go to a place like lion's arch you won't be downscaled and you can see your true stats.
Your +vitality jewels are supposed to all work. You should have seen a +4 to vitality with each one you used. It's very odd, and the downscaling is the only thing I can think of.
