Bears are definitely good for tank-distractions thus keeping YOU safe from harm. I also like some of the birds of prey for pets. Honestly, I felt like ALL other species of animals that I tried died too quick. --- He who needs a pat on the back makes every man his judge
I heard the hound and lynx has high damage too. So i have a bear and dog/lynx for both offence and defence. Im gonna have to try red moa now. --- Playing: Killing Floor, BFBC2, Team Fortress 2, L4d2 --Yoichi Wada needs to be fired--
I'm trying to find a link where i read that the Lynx actually has the best DPS of all the pets. Took out the Heavy test dummy in the mists in about 4-5 seconds or something like that while the others took 6-7 --- I may look calm...but in my head I've killed you 3 times http://oi51.tinypic.com/118eyp1.jpg <--if CoD was like D&D
I've swung away from DPS pets on land though, at least now that I'm ~30. I'm finding that the cats are taking notable amounts of damage just fighting 1 enemy, and being severely injured by 2. They die at 3.
So now I'm using the Polar Bear and Murellow. The Polar Bear has the highest attack out of the bears (a discrepancy, since all the stats in a family should be the same), and the Murellow's F2 makes a cloud of poison, which combos with our projectile finishers.
In water I'm using an Armor Fish and a Shark, generally with the Shark out. Haven't needed as much tanking in water for some reason.
