how do you get the dismounted gothic knights?

when you play the holy roman empire? It won't let me use the dismounted Gothic knights, only in the custom map. Is this a glitch? When you play the Teutonic campaign. Thanks for helping.

under castle upgrades <recommend last 2 upgrades> in export_descr_buildings

then


OK this about being able to keep edits or edit files with out having to make a .bat just to edit files

go to your medieval2.preferences.cfg in your M:TW folder opposite click file and change from "read only"

open it with note pad and paste this

[io]
file_first = true


just like that and save ......... then important part opposite click file and make it read only and if you don't it will disappear (the [io]
file_first = true part) the game over writes it and after you quit you lose edits
so just make it read only then treat every thing like you did in R:TW and make back ups before ANY edits :) or pay the price ........

how do I get to under castle upgrades?

1st have you unpacked files ? if no go to your m2:tw folder find folder named "tools" then unpacker then choose to unpack all after all that find data inside m2:tw in there you'll find
export_descr_buildings inside look for this

material stone
construction 1
cost 2400
settlement_min town
upgrades
{
fortress
}


below this will be units go to end of list and paste the gothics in

recruit_pool "Turkomans" 1 0.4 3 0 requires factions { timurids, }
{
recruit_pool "Dismounted Gothic Knights" 1 0.4 3 0 requires factions { hre, }

recruit_pool "Armored Sergeants" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { england, france, hre, milan, venice, papal_states, sicily, slave, }
wall_level 3

then paste under the very next upgrade


BTW I've added "Armored Sergeants" too so that is why gothics not at end on my list .......

WTF??????? You have to edit files in order to upgrade villages and castles????? WTF! WHY DON'T THEY DO IT IN THE PATCHES?
