To my experience the R700 and the M40A3 are very similar but the R700 seems to be a wee bit better to say the least, heck you even unlock it way later. So why does everyone keep saying the m40a3 is a beast with the acog and not the r700? --- joey444 Posted There wasn't a 4th Indiana Jones movie. Denial. The R700 seems to have higher damage. And what are you saying, the Acog boost the M40A3s damage does nothing for the R700? --- joey444 Posted There wasn't a 4th Indiana Jones movie. Denial. When reality doesn't fit with you, you simply just make up your own reality.
ALL Sniper Rifles do 70 damage, the difference is the multipliers for body parts. For example, the M21 only gets a damage boost for the Chest and Head. All other parts have a multiplier of 1. Meanwhile the Barret/R700 have multipliers for Head, Chest and Stomach.
Meanwhile, there's an OP glitch where the damage on the M40 increases to 75 using the ACOG scope, combine with this Stopping Power, and it's a one hit kill on ANY part of the body. Not to make it a debate topic, but how does a sniper rifle that NEEDS stopping power to be a 1sk to the body automatically become the best sniper rifle? The R700 outclasses it in every way, if you want a BA, and there's not many situations where the whole, 1 shot more in the magazine makes a difference. Unlike other snipers, the Barrett or the R700 or even the SVD can be used with Jammer, Juggs, or even overkill for a shotty or AR. Why would that make it worse than the M40? --- GT: OuchAThumbTack RIP- CrimsionSkyes: 07/04/04 - 12/25/09
