I am getting a new laptop because mine was stolen so these are my new specs (maybe, they will only get better by the time i purchase)
Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi6
-Intel Core duo processor T9300 at 2.5GHz, 6MB L2, 800MHz FSB
-two 200GB Sertal ATA hard disk drives at 7200rpm so 400GB at 7200rpm
-NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8600M GT, 512MB plus up to 255MB shared.....so up to 767 MB
-17" TruBrite TFT LCD at 1680x1050 (WSXGA+)
let me know if there are any other specs you need to make an accurate assumption of how it will run. The computer can only get better from here because I won't go worse than what is listed.
Thanks for the help!!
also, I will be running Vista Ultimate (32 bit) because that is what ships with the machine.
I used to play CoD4 on the 360, but alas, that was stolen as well so I have to move to PC. I'm not unhappy about that, but I have always played on consoles and I was pretty good on the 360. Thanks again!
Can anybody give me at least some insight to how it will run. I'm not 100% computer savvy when it comes to all the new GPUs and CPUs and Graphics Cards. I know kind of what is what, but not all that well.
You will be able to run it, quite easily. Probably at maximum settings since it is SLi. Depends completely on the resolution you play at, but with your monitor, your max would probably be 1280x1024. Your FPS (frames per second) might be around 40-60 which is pretty playable.
you are a gentleman/woman and a scholar/ess
and does anybody have any recommendations for gaming laptops (has to be a laptop because I have to be able to take it to class that is better than the satellite x205-sli6 from toshiba. that is one that is within my budget of $2500 or so and is very well suited from what I can tell to playing the games i want to play.
