and once in game it runs fine. but the loading times are long it seems. like the intro movie kinda freezes for about a minute and then it kida hangs up during loading for an additional minute while loading anyway to fix this? any patch? do i have to d/l the nightlife patch since this has NL expansion on it?
You don't have to patch it because Deluxe comes patches. The patches don't really address issues like that anyways, they're more to fix bugs in the game.
It sounds like your computer may not be able to handle the game, or may only just meet the minimum requirements. Use srtest.com to check. If you're interesting in upgrading your computer so the game will run better, if you post your specs and someone may be able to help. This article has some tips that may improve performance without upgrading: http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=35914
You could try disabling the intro movie which will speed up loading a bit, but overall won't do much. If you're not sure how to do that, this link explains how: http://www.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=92314
well my comp is decent my Gcard isnt. i hope that is the problem. the thing is it just loads slow but once in game everything is smooth and fast. like it freezes after u click the intro movie and then it takes like 2mins to load on the loading screen.
2 minutes to load isn't that bad at all, that's about how long my game takes to load from double clicking to the screen where you choose a neighbourhood - but that's with 3 expansions and about a gig of custom content. I don't think the graphics card has much to do with load times, that's more about RAM. My total load time when from 15 minutes to 10 after I doubled my RAM to 1 GB.
Do you have Vista, and not XP? In that case I have no clue what the path would be.
If you do have XP, try looking in Program Files\EA GAMES for any Sims 2 folders, and then look inside those folders for TSData\Res\Movies for anything called ealogo_audio or intro_eng_movie 0 just rename the extension on every one of those files.
If you installed the expansion in a different folder, then you could use the search function to find where those files are kept.
