Near-Stat-Maxing, iOS Version (Cecil Limit Break/?????'s Love) v1.0

#1Chaosmaster00Posted 1/26/2013 3:44:56 PM
I'm sure you know all know by now, after you reach level 70, your stat upgrades from Lv71 through 99 are all dictated on the augments you have equipped. This time around, though, I have formulated a setup for getting the most out of your "Love" augment combined with the single Limit Break augment you are given.

Now, for anyone wondering "Why Cecil?" If nothing else, one good reason why, besides getting the most of the Love augment itself: Ultima. Using Twincast in tandem with Rosa or Fusoya, for 99 MP each, casts this penultimate attack, whose Magic Attack of 999 is nearly 4 times greater than that of Meteor or Bahamut. Make no mistake, this move single-handedly can turn
he tides of battle, and it would be a shame to NOT have Limit Break and disgrace its potential... just saying.

Anyways, on to move/augment allocation (since I have found some skills they started with useful for topping off stats rather than just wasting augments you could prefer on others):

Limit Break x1 .| Cecil
Rosa's Love x1 .| Cecil (for this guide's sake)
Twincast x1. . .| Cecil
Whirlwind x3. . | Kain. | Rosa. | Edge
Piercing Magicx1| Kain
Tsunami x3 . . .| Kain. | Rydia | Rosa
Phoenix x2 . . .| Kain. | Rydia
Inferno x3. . . | Kain. | Rydia | Rosa
Bardsong x1. . .| Rydia
Last Stand x1. .| Rydia | Edge
Hide x1. . . . .| Rydia
Fast Talker x1. | Rosa
Curse x1. . . . | Edge
Omnicasting x1 .| Edge
Aim. . . . . . .| Rosa
Ninjutsu. . . . | Edge

Now, for the final countdown... literally. Here's the way you gotta have them on to get your stats as maxed as they can be:

Cecil:
1) Limit Break Lv71-99 (+29 ALL)
2) Rosa's Love Lv71-99 (+29 ALL)

~~~~~
So, with all that said and done, you might be wondering what to do with Rydia. Well, good news is, with some easily-acquired gear, you can fix that. No need for Adamant Armor! The Dragon Whisker whip, dropped from Blue Dragons, gives a +3 bonus to Speed/Intellect/Spirit, which will bring her Spirit to 99, and a Protect Ring, gotten from chests in the Lunar Subterrane or dropped very rarely from Ahriman, will top off her Stamina from 92 to 99.
So, with Love and Limit Break on the same character, it's pretty hard to get the most of your stats, and impossible to max your base stats; however, that doesn't mean you can't get the best of it if you can make up for Rydia's losses (not that the stats she didn't max necessarily apply to her "job", but it's the aesthetics of it).
Enjoy!
I just noticed a small error in my guide that kinda throws things off more than it should...
Rydia Lv70 | 1) | 2) | 3) | 4) | 5)
...STR: 36 | 65 | 94 | 94 | 99 | 99 |
...SPD: 33 | 62 | 62 | 91 | 91 | 99 |
...STA: 34 | 63 | 92 | 92 | 92 | 92 |
...INT: 72 | 72 | 99 | -- | -- | 99 |
...SPT: 54 | 54 | 54 | 54 | 96 | 96 |
For some reason, I didn't edit her STR to its correct values when I remade this... stupid copypaste. It SHOULD look like this:
Rydia Lv70 | 1) | 2) | 3) | 4) | 5)
...STR: 36 | 65 | 94 | 94 | 94 | 94 |
...SPD: 33 | 62 | 62 | 91 | 91 | 99 |
...STA: 34 | 63 | 92 | 92 | 92 | 92 |
...INT: 72 | 72 | 99 | -- | -- | 99 |
...SPT: 54 | 54 | 54 | 54 | 96 | 96 |
Which also means her Strength will be taking a minor hit too, which none of her equips, sans Minerva Bustier, help that much with (though if you're using her offensively, she's probably not using magic anyways, and this the INT/SPT drop won't really affect her usefulness in combat).
Just wanted to put that out there... sorry for the previous incorrectness from before...
I did some major number crunching before leveling Rydia in my last game file and I got my stats a little better, arguably.
You have her missing a total of 15 stats from all 99. Here's what I had her at.
Strength- 99
Speed- 87
Stamina- 98
Intellect- 99
Spirit- 99
This said, I don't really know if I have crappy augments set up for the rest of my game, but once I get on my laptop Ill show my path, which included Cecil having both ???'s Love and Limit Break.
While her stats are overall higher in whatever you used, I regret to mention to you the vast superiority of Speed in her character build than Stamina or Strength, especially Stamina, since it can be covered easily by the +15 STA from Protect Ring. Strength is usually best left off unless you're going for a full offensive set-up, which can be achieved through equipping Minerva Bustier (or Adamant Armor).
But, Speed will always have use to her, no matter what build she uses, and the only way for her to make up the Speed she lacks in your setup is to find the EXTREMELY rare Crystal Ring, and even then, that only makes up for 10 Speed. She'll only get the last 2 points she needs in Speed otherwise by always wielding the Dragon Whisker, which means no Stardust Rod wielding, unless you want Speed to not be maxed...
Ah maybe I never noticed because I do have both a Crystal Ring and Dragon Whisker on her.
Normally it shouldn't make too much difference and some augments can be substituted by others because most endgame equipment will boost what you need.
Thanks for the input. :)
Yeah, that's why I made these adjustments to her stats in the name of NOT having a full set of Adamant Armors or such, and only the basics or somewhat common (or rather non-rare) drops to help alleviate statistical variances.
For Rydia, the stats she has maxed here will always help her; she will ALWAYS use Speed, and as a black mage/summoner, maxing her INT means she can perform a multi-role of potential physical/magical role. If you want to go full-Mage build (Stardust Rod + Luminous Robe, most usually, which gives +15 INT and +5 SPT combined, iirc), you aren't penalized in any stats by choosing such. If you want to go more physical, then by using gear that makes her more suited to such a job (Dragon Whisker + Minerva Bustier, giving a combined +10 STR, +3SPD, +10 STA, and -7 INT/SPT, combined), she can get the stats she needs to attain that role, especially since she will almost ALWAYS have Protect Ring on anyways.
That's basically the thought process that went into making the choices I did...
