On screen character question

How do you change which character is shown onscreen when walking around in the map? Cecil died in a battle and wasn't revives until after, so now Tellah is the onscreen character. I'd like Cecil back.

I have tried everything I can think of, and I'm sure it's really simple.

When walking, press Y.

I was pretty sure it was the shoulder buttons or select but I may be remembering wrong.

No, it's definitely Y, but it doesn't swap to a character if they're KO'd.

I love switching characters outside of battle.
Kain and Edge look the coolest at the end.

Ah...k, maybe I was thinking of the gba or psp version then, since I own and have played all 3.

With so many versions of this game available, it's hard to keep track of what's what sometimes. I made a similar mistake with suggesting having Edge use Claws when he can't do it in this version, lol
