Dropped Item AR code

#1crazy4rpgPosted 2/10/2013 10:15:49 PM
I found this code, it's apparently suppose to allow you to press L + any directional button to get one of the 4 drops.

L+Up for drop 1,
L+Left for drop 2,
L+Down for drop 3,
L+Right for drop 4.
And Select+Up for whatever is the Steal.

But I can't get it to work. I think it's a codebreaker code actually. Can someone give me the AR equivalent, if there is one?

This is the code:
D20F232E 0300E155
D4000130 02400240
220F2330 00000000
220F2338 E3A01000
D20F232E 0300E155
D4000130 02400220
220F2330 00000000
220F2338 E3A01001
D20F232E 0300E155
D4000130 02400280
220F2330 00000000
220F2338 E3A01002
D20F232E 0300E155
D4000130 02400210
220F2330 00000000
220F2338 E3A01003
D20F232E 0300E155
D4000130 02400044
220F2330 00000000
220F2338 E3A01004

I would really like to get this code to work, it would save me a hell of a lot of time having to switch backwards and forwards between the dozen "Guaranteed Item-X Drop" codes I've been using.

I could just use a general "Have 99 of everything code" but that would give me 99 Mythgraven Swords and Crystals and junk.

I like codes that let me cheat without leaving behind obvious evidence that I cheated.

I think this kodewerx topic/post should help. As far as I know, it has all or most of the working FFIVDS ar codes:

Enjoy!

Thanks.

Ok I see...the D's are changed to 9's.

So D20F232E 0300E155 becomes 920F232E 0000E155

hmm...

There is something weird about the D2000000 00000000 lines. No code I have ever entered that used them has worked unless I removed them. I wonder why?

I also wonder if that means I'll have to omit every one of them or just the last one?

HORY SHEET IT WORKS!!! I think...first fight was against 4 Cockatrice outside Baron, got the summon *fist pump*!

I just had to clip off the last D2-line.

Second fight, 3 Goblins and a Sword Rat, L Button+Right BAM got the Goblin Summon!

**** the drop rates in this game!

I am curious though. In a fight with multiple enemies, all with 4 different drops, how does the code know which item to drop?

I fight 2 Floating Eyeballs and 2 Helldivers at once, I press L+Down for drop 3 (Alarm Clock for Eyeball, Phoenix Down for Helldiver) and got Phoenix Down. What made it give Phoenix Down and not Alarm Clock?

When multiple enemies can drop items, it randomly chooses which item to give if multiple enemies can drop something.

This is why it's harder to get drops from fights with enemy formations that have more than the foes that you're hunting from, since the game has to choose which one will drop something if any do.

Second'd. Unless you're going to fight superbosses on a second or third playthrough though, you don't really need any of the drops. I did the same thing though and cheated to get the things that I wanted :)
