Hi all! Thanks in advance for any helpful answers. I just got an HP laptop a few days ago, and was wondering (hoping) if my laptop could run SCII. I don't really know what kind of specs you need to hear to get an idea, so I'll just post a few. HP Pavillion dm4 Intel Core i5-450M Processor 2.40 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.66GHz 500GB (7200RPM) Hard Drive 4096MB DDR3 SDRAM (2 Dimm) Tell me if you need more info to best answer my question. --- Pokemon Diamond FC:0645-4839-5392 name:Lucas
whats your graphics card? --- GT: TT LuckyUrDead No one cares about you Magus, you're like the Zoidberg of our little forum group. ~Aimuko~
I pretty sure you can, I think you have integrated graphics. I have a slightly worse laptop and I can play 3v3s, on low of course, at around 30 fps. I've been saving up for a gaming desktop.
Dual core or quad core? And anyways, you should be able to run this fine. Low no doubt. Medium you should be able to run too. I have a Toshiba that I play on with a Core i3 Quad core and 3 gigs of ram and can play it on Medium. --- GT: Dirkstarlight00 SC II: Dirk 670
Integrated? Ouch. Chances are, if that...Probably on really low settings and you'll occasionally get lag too. Sadly, Laptops just really aren't a good choice for gaming. A 400$ prebuilt desktop could run SC2 on Ultra-Extreme settings, but for a Laptop that can run those settings 800$ minimum probably. --- Most true fact about me:I am not a Saint.

Wow, give me that desktop. --- "If you can chill, chill." - LiquidTyler
Okay, I over exaggerated a little. Not necessarily Ultra-Extreme, but at the absolute minimum at least High settings. --- Most true fact about me:I am not a Saint.
Thanks for all the answers, seems like I'll be able to play it albeit at a low setting, I found a link to the exact HP I have. http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-dm4-1165dx-2-6GHz-Broadband/dp/B004KNKWY2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1310371998&sr=8-15 This is a little more detailed, and maybe will give you more information, if you still need it. :) --- Pokemon Diamond FC:0645-4839-5392 name:Lucas
Well, here's the best way to figure out how good your Laptop can play SC2 honestly: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/marketing/index.html Shows whether you meet minimum or recommended settings for the game. If you are lacking minimum or recommended settings, it gives some recommendations to reach those settings. After using this, just wondering where does your Laptop end up? Meeting minimum or recommended settings? --- Most true fact about me:I am not a Saint.
It passes the minimum requirements, and the bar is almost halfway to the recommended requirements. --- Pokemon Diamond FC:0645-4839-5392 name:Lucas |
