West_WindsPosted 10/28/2008 2:16:14 PM | So I picked the game back up today after a long break from it to play Mega Man 9. Wily's castle kicked my butt hard so I decided to pick up good old Blast Works again.
Now so far I'd only beaten campaign mode on rookie and unlocked Tumiki Fighters. That was months ago though. So I decided it was time to try and get rRootage. I made my way easily enough through arcade mode up until 5-1. I lost about 50 live and 3 continues getting to 5-3.
I was spewing out colorful language with 0 lives left at the begging of 5-3 cursing the programmers for all the bullets that were surely meant for me and me only. I managed though.... through some sort of luck and probably a bit of devine intervention to rack up a whopping 70 lives as I went through the stage. The final boss stood no chance as my giant deathship ripped his little flying gelopie to shreds.
By the time I saw the credits roll by.... all my anger, rage, tears, and frustration were forgotten. I bobbed my head happily to the cheerful little tune I was treated to and I actually completely forgot why I started the adventure. The prize that was rRootage was now mine.
I sighed a breath of contentment and realized why everyone loves these types of games. The sweet taste of ultimate victory..... it's a rush.
And now I only have to do it again six more times I think? XD |
