F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate Install To Drive C Problem

#1seismicdeathPosted 4/10/2008 11:46:55 AM

The game only allows an install to the system drive. The drive has insufficient space. I'd like to install to a drive other than C.

I'm in touch with Sierra's tech support, but I'm not hopeful. I can't remember the last time any tech support for anything (software or hardware) was any help.

Anyone know a fix? Other than LINKD.exe, JUNCTION.exe or a REGEDIT... does anyone have a simple solution?

Thanks,

sd

P.S.: Be warned! If anyone suggests I should clear out my C drive or make it bigger, I am a certified Voodoo specialist and I will curse you with festering hemorrhoids!

The tech guy went with the REGEDIT. I did the REGEDIT and installed the game. Here's the info if anyone needs it.

"To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order that they appear in. Please do not skip steps below. These steps are rather lengthy. You may want to print them out before you start. To try resolving the issue please try the below mentioned steps. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Click on Start -->Run --->Type Regedit and in the new window Click on

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrent Version

in the right side of this menu you will find "ProgramFilesDir" in the Name Column, right click on it and click modify it and instead of C: choose the desired Drive.

Once you have finished the the installation please follow the steps to put the registry entry back to the original state."

G'luck,
