I hope they have a lot of the powerups from the Mario Kart GP2 arcade game

Some of those powerups are too cool not to bring to the home version...especially the Tornado and Shockstick.

The Tornado was a dumb fire powerup that plowed through everything in its path and the Shockstick gave your driver a taser stick that let them beat down anyone in front of them if they come up on their opponent.
