How does the game determine location in country?

I'm asking this because I'm currently located on the West Coast of the States, yet the game has me showing up in the north east. I was wondering what if anything can be done to fix this.

Anyway, the above are right. I don't know why north-east, unless you're in the D.C. area on the MKW map.
