stuck...editing gamedata question

#1seeddrmmrPosted 9/22/2008 11:00:08 AM

I unpacked all the game files, changed the value in the fs file to true, created the folder path and put the new files in...yet no changes take effect in game. I started just trying to modify the weight you can carry to see if it worked, but no luck...I followed the instuctions someone had posted(or so I thought). Has anyone else encountered this problem?

1) Edit the "gamedata" line of the fsgame.ltx to read True/True instead of False/True and save.

2) Throw the gamedata folder from the mod you're using into the main Clear Sky directory (Do not extract, just drag and drop)

3) Start the game and be happy.. What mods are you using btw?

I'm not using any mods ATM...I'm just trying to get the changes I made in the files to take effect.

For ex,

I tried to change the carry weight value in the actor.ltx So I made the path:

C:\Deep Silver\S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:Clear Sky\gamedata\config\creatures\actor.ltx

and inserted the modified file into it.....but nothing changes.

and I did change the value to true in the fs fils btw

No, no no!!! You don't edit your game path and you don't edit the path in the fsgame.ltx.. You only change the gamedata line in the fsgame.ltx so that it reads true/true instead of false/true. Then you create the following folder

gamedata > configs > creatures

So you create a new folder called gamedata.

Inside gamedata you create a new folder called configs

Inside configs you create a new folder called creatures.

Then you take your actor.ltx and throw it into creatures.

Then you take the gamedata folder and make sure it's in your main clear sky directory..

END OF STORY!

- You only change the gamedata line in the fsgame.ltx so that it reads true/true instead of false/true.

That IS the only thing I did in the fsgame.ltx

Ya...did that. Above I posted where I put it-

C:Deep SilverStalker Clear Skygamedataconfigscreaturesactor.ltx

And it doesn't work, so this is where I am at now.

And I also made those folders, in that order, and placed them where you are saying. Something else is interfereing.

IIRC theres multiple values you should edit for weight

what I suggest doing is downloading someone elses weight mod and look at what they changed, also try it once to see if it works.
