It's actually useful for Metal killing when paired to Bladed Armor. If an enemy attacks them, 1/4 of the damage is reflected, and with 0 defense, it's usually enough for them to die in one hit --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice.
The older games usually didn't reveal that equipment was cursed until after you put it on. There may be some monsters unaffected by the curse, I'm remember someone saying that their slime knight wasn't affected by the double-edged sword's curse. --- Work is for losers. A winner says 'That's on my list' and never commits to a deadline.
